Yeah, I loved the Minish Cap, although truthfully never finished it...
I'm somewhat looking forward to the new DS title coming up; but I'm a little concerned as to whether it will hit that same quality.
Another great (And commonly overlooked) title in the series was the Four Swords on GameCube. It was a hard setup for many people, but I've got to say in all honesty, that it is very much worth while. I really like the smooth gameplay and great animation. It will continue to be a good title for many years for the same reason that the SNES and GBA titles have been so good, rather than a (currently) cutting edge gaphics engine, they relied and great detailed artwork to make the game pretty. And that goes a long way.
The gamecube entry showed a fair amount of that approach as well; but was lagely under-appreciated. Truthfully I'm more inclined to the 2d entries in this franchise, but when quality strikes, I'll play it either way.
I honestly think a VC version of OOT would be a waste for Nintendo... It's been released, and re-released *twice* and it's not even ten years old yet. What's the point? Honestly. No one missed it. Yes, it was a milestone game; but unless you're really going to play it again, specifically on the Wii; there's not much point to this. I don't think it will be as big a prospect as the other ones have been. Even Majora's Mask, which is lesser known may be a better option, because a lot of people still haven't played it, even though it is not as good.
I think there's a statute they need to understand on how many re-releases of one game can be done in a period of time... It gets too oversaturated, and people lose interest. Nintendo didn't rerelease the first Super Mario Bros. two years after initial release, then again six months later, then again a year after that. That would get really boring. They've re-released Super ario Bros several times now; *BUT* they include updates, usually graphical updates; extras, fun minigames, background information.... More than was sold on day one. And quite frankly 'Now with Trilinear filtering' doesn't mean jack squat to me.
I want see REAL new features if they're going to keep this up. I wouldn't mind seeing a graphical overhaul on it, as was done with Mario over the years. But another straight port would be a tiresome waste.
