So I've been thinking of getting a new camcorder. Either the panasonic gs320 or the gs500 (thoughts on these?), depending on somethings. I realize that miniDV won't become completely obsolete for a few more years but I'd like to know before I buy or waste my money on a dv camera. Just have some questions, how much better is are the HDs, and if it's an HD camera does that mean it will only play on HD sets or does that mean it's just a higher quality.

The price of HD cameras are a little too much for me right now, should I wait and expect a huge price drop anytime soon?

And would buying a miniDV camera be a waste of my money right now.

oh and a little off topic right now but what're the sony and canon equivalents for the gs300-500.
