Hi, I've been trying to play burnt games on my slim Ps2 SCPH-70011 and every time after using the swap disc it takes atleast 1 minute to start the game and then everytime there is starting video i get a black screen and the music takes a long time to load and then just stutters. Normal games play perfectly. It might be because i didn't use the swap tools I just put tape on that switch inside the Ps2 and taped the cd stopper thing, the only swap tool that I did use was the one that goes over the reset button.
It is the media that you burnt the game to. Check out the link here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/303681 read what is there try some good media and if you are still haveing problems then reply.

-First, try to place your slim vertically (if you haven't already done so). V12 does have a heating problem.
-What media do you use ? Try some DVD-R instead if you are using DVD+R (this I have first hand experience)
Some people may argue with me but more problem had been reported on DVD+R, booktyped or not (No it does not magically make it DVD-Rom quality, it force the drive to recognize it as DVD-Rom when clrealy it isn't, which many times IS the source of problems)
-Is the tool at the reset button stable ?,Try use some tissue instead, if that thing is not hold firmly in place it can cause reading problem.
Mostly the problem will come from the media you burn. Find and download ZoneLoader. Swap it in between Swap Magic and the games (Insert Swap Magic, swap out with Zoneloader, load program, swap out with game) It helps, alot.
Would it be okay to open the Ps2 and tape or something the reset button thingy? Also I checked the game with the cover opened and it spins normaly for a bit, then slows down and repeats.

Every PS2 is different. I have a fat PS2 and my buddy has a slim. I have burnt games that work fine in my PS2 and then take them to him and they skip and stutter. Some of them won't even work at all in his but work just fine in my PS2. My fat PS2 works good with Maxell and his slim works good with TDK. It's strang how it works.
I think it's fixed now, I tried taping the reset button down and placing it on a vertical and that didn't work (just a black screen, it use to start the game but it didn't now at all) so I placed it down flat and that also had the same results, so then I took out the tap and put in some tissue paper and so I tried again but it also didn't work. But I realized I was using DVD+R, so I searched for a DVD-R and it works, there is only a slight stutter at some point.
