Hi all :)

I resently downloaded God of War 2, burned it and was about to start playing it when a buddy of mine sugested that I absolutely must try God of War ( 1 ) b4 I even think about playing GoW2... now I know what youre all thinking "how the hell did you miss out on the first game?!" well I hate to admit it, but I was for a while hooked bigtime on World of WarCraft ( a very popular MMORPG ) and kinda missed out on allot of console game happenings since like 2005 or so...

Anyways, I downloaded GoW1 ( one with downsampled extra movies ) and burned it and was going to play it when I stumbled onto a little problem, the game boots up using Swap Magic 3.3, but for some reason after booting up, it takes a long time ( 1 min or so ) to get to the "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" screen at wich point the game stops without anything happening after that ( I waited like 10 mins or so to make sure it was really frozen ^ ^ )

Now I first thought that maybe I had downloaded some "corupted" iso or something like that, so I tryed the burned DVD with PCSX2_0.9.2 ( a PS2 Emulator ) and there the game boots up and plays just fine ( except for the low fps in the emulator ^ ^ ) without stoping/freezing once...

So now that ofc leads me to one conclusion ( that I know of ) and that's that Iw maybe burned the game it self incorectly...

I used DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and burned the game at 2x speed on a MAXELL DVD+R 1-16x ( speed )

So my question is, did I burn it corectly, maybe I should burn it at 4x speed? or maybe I need to use another program or a diffrent setting in DVD Decrypter...?

Anyways I wanted to do some experimenting, but a friend of mine sugested that I should first make a post here b4 I waste a few DVDs ^ ^

So if anyone could help me out with this I would really appreciate it :)

I would try an 8x speed disc burnt at 4x.

Maxell's are OK, but Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden seem to get the best results.

I tryed it at 4x speed but it again froze up at "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" screen, so I decided to go with the Sonix fix, downloaded the full 7.93 GB ISO and ripped out the bonus stuff and burned the "fixed" 3.47 GB ISO at 4x speed and it works like a charm! :D ( I must admit I was a bit suprized that I did it right and that it actually worked o.O, am usualy a noob when it comes to modifying stuff ^ ^ )

I allso heard somwhere that there is a tutorial that helps you keep the bonus movies and ripps out the game movies so you can then watch the bonus stuff on your PS2, but I think Im just going to watch the bonus stuff I ripped out on my PC ^ ^

Anyways, just wanted to say THX! to Sonix and everyone else on these forums for the help :)
