i click the re-author button add movies into the compilation area click backup and burn to dvd (using Nero), my dvd's turn out ok at first glance but each dvd, after a certain point just stops working and my dvd players starts to make weird noises and says can't read disk, this has happened three times, how do fix this.

P.S. its not like i can see 2 or 3 of my movies and then it cuts off, i only burn 2 to a disc and it cuts off after 4o or so minutes.

Try playing these dvd's back in the pc and see if you get the same problem there.
If you don't then could be a media compatibility issue w/ the player or the lens on the player could be dusty. You can use a dvd lens cleaner to clean it.

How about the media you are using and burn speed?

You can also post the last Nero log and it will give us this info and more to try and help sort this out.

Nero 7 - program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory
Nero 6 - program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory

Just be sure to edit out the serial # - begins w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.
