I had a X2 2.0 PRO and just installed X2 2.2 PRO ... I tried using X2BM to flash it, it would say writing 0% and would never move... I press cntrl + alt + delete and it would say X2BM (not responding) I did get one bios to load to 100% (took 5 hours) when it finished the program gave an error about the flash... I cant get the chip to flash and now that I tried with X2BM I lost the cromwell that was on the chip so I cant use that know... I need some serious help.... How can I get my bios (4977) flashed.. I know that there are lots of forums on flashing a bios but none of them can fix my problem.. I would really appreciate some help... THANKS

well here's a few points of advice.

1) try making sure your cable (the parallel cable) is short, 6 foot or less, bidirectional, and I usually suggest getting a parallel printer extension cable, they work great.

2) make sure in your bios/cmos settings, your parallel ports are set as NORMAL and not ecp/epp.. that helps

3) make sure the ribbon cable is plugged firmly into the chip and into the external lpt port

4) make sure xbox is on when flashing, and I usually put dips 1-3 off, and dip 4 ON, it works pretty well.

5) pray, and make sure your bios is a good bios, and is in all 4 slots in x2bm.... then try flashing.. sometimes people have to hold the cable into the lpt port.. to make sure it programs..

dont worry about verifying.. i never get a successful verification.. but chips work fine.

great products, great prices, great support

All dip switch's should be OFF when flashing.

Then 4 ON and the other 3 OFF when you finish flashing the chip.
