I have recently flashed a Samsung drive with firmware 5.2d
I used Xtreme Boot Maker to format the USB for flashing
I did everything right (so i thought),
It came up with done, compelted etc etc
But when i put a game in the Xbox 360 it comes up with that white screenw ith all the green circles on it saying "please isnert this disk into an xbox 360 console" or something
I put a DVD movie in the Xbox and it played fine
I cannot check if originals work as they are all err ... at my other house, yeah :-)
I know that the backups im trying to play work because this was the second Xbox 360 i have flashed both SAMSUNG drives, and the games work fine on the other Xbox i have.
What could i be doing wrong?
p.s I have had one thought maybe its the USB pen drive
I just deleted everything off it by highlighting it all and choosing delete
And formatted over it, maybe that could be the problem.
Is there a programme where you can totally get rid of everything off the drive?
Or am i just talking sh*t, and that couldnt be the problem at all
Ok, i decided to tell you all exactly what i have just done.
1) Put hitachi drive back in Xbox 360
2) Put hitach drive into MODE B
3) Restored hitachi firmware to original, using maximum garyopa RESTORE.BAT function on their firmware package
4) Then i flashed the firmware using Birdys flasher to get an ORIG FIRMWARE BIN
5) When flash was compelted checked hitachi played original game, it played it.
6) Swapped the HITACHI drive with the SAMSUNG drive in my xbox 360
7) Set up a bootable USB with XTREMEM BOOT MAKER
8) Booted pc into USB, did SAMREAD 1234567 12345 function on my xbox 360 to get ORIG and HACKED firmware on my USB, turned them all off, sata cable out the works
9) Booted pc into WINDOWS
10) Copied HACKED firmware made in PART 8 into folder
11) Opened ORIGINAL firmware from HITACHI drive made in STEP 4 in HEX EDITOR, went to drive key in FW (ctrl G, typed in 4000)
12) Highlighted everything from 4000 to 41f0, copied (ctrl c)
13) Closed the original firmware and opened the HACKED PART 8 in hex editor and went to drive key (ctrl g, typed in 4000) and copied over it with drive key from ogiginal firmware (ctrl v)
14) Saved the patched firmware to temp folder,
15) Replaced HACKED firmware on USB with the new patched HACKED firmware (steps 13-14)
16) Restarted PC and booted into USB
17) Typed SAMHACK 1234567 12345, chose xbox 360 from list at MTKFLASH, waited for it to finish, it all finished succesful.
18) Put xbox sata cable in drive, put in original nad it didnt play!, it said Please insert game into an xbox 360 console
Since your putting a Sammy in a Hitachi box, you need to spoof the firmware to report as the hitachi version you took out. Use xtreme 5.2 "make xtreme firmware" command to achieve this. Check it out with FWtoolbox 3 and it'll say Samsung spoofed as a Hitachi. Then flash back.
I miseed out part 6 because i cant stand floppy disks
Instead of part 6 i did the following,
1) Created bootable USB with XTREME BOOT MAKER (firmware 5.2d)
2) Openend USB drive in "MY COMPUTER" to display files
3) Double clicked folder called BACKUPS
4) Created new folder called "1234567"
5) Inside foler "1234567" i made a new folder called "12345)
6) I copied the patched firmware made using the above guide into the "12345" folder and renamed it HACKED (using capitals)
7) Booted PC into USB, connected xbox 360 etc etc
8) Typed SAMHACK 1234567 12345
9) Waited for it to finish, to my amazement an original played
(Its not actually running a HACKED FIRMWARE now, you have to rename the firmware HACKED to spoof the USB into thinkign you've already doen the samread function aswell, so onto flashign a REAL hacked firmware)
10) Using the same USB drive, this time i properly flashed, going through samread then samhack, but making sure i didnt use a serial like "1234567 12345", instead i used "1234567 23456"
