Hello, Jake ;) Let's get started!

Firstly, you need an antivirus scanner. Norton is a very bad scanner, and is made worse by the fact that you have to buy it. For a free scanner, I recommend AVG Free Edition or Avira AntiVir.

Secondly, after the fixes, you need to install a firewall, too. I remember when I didn't use one. My computer got infected by eighty-six trojans, no less! For a free firewall, I recommend Comodo. (It's free. Forever. No kidding.)

Now... as for your logfile.

Can I get you to download and run VundoFix? It should generate a logfile that sits on your desktop, post that in your next reply.

After you've downloaded and installed Avira Antivir (you did, right? Right!?), do a scan. It generates a log too, post that in your reply.

I recommend you not use torrents, but if you want to, that's fine by me.

Open up HijackThis and do a scan. Place check marks beside the following items, if they appear:
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: @xpsp3res.dll,-20001 - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)
O16 - DPF: {02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B} (QuickTime Object) - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52/2006...ex/qtplugin.cab

Is the following link the website of your ISP (Internet Servie Provider)? http://www.club-vaio.sony-europe.com If not, fix the following entry:

O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.club-vaio.sony-europe.com/

Do you know the IP or Domain '212.135.1.36 195.40.1.36'? If not, fix this entry:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{FEFEAB66-FC6F-4A3B-8540-0ED1F01EE74D}: NameServer = 212.135.1.36 195.40.1.36

Rename HijackThis.exe to asdf.exe (I will know if you've done this), do a scan, and post another logfile.

Go to Start Menu and hit "Run". In the box, type in (without quotes) "appwiz.cpl". This will bring up Add or Remove Programs. Remove any Java versions you have installed, and re-install the most recent, which should be 1.5.0.11. This is because old versions are exploitable by malware and potentially exploitable.
