Action Repkay MAX Codes work on DVD-R Backups?

I have an purchased copy of the ACtion Replay Max disc from codejunkies.com I am trying to find a way to get the codes to work on the backup copies of games...

Cos when i load normally it just keeps saying insert game disc, but the backup is in there - if anyone knows hwo to get past this - I WILL KISS YOUR FEET! Ok maybe not...
