Was going to order some Epson ink from Super Media Store and saw that some of the multi packs have a "Gloss Optimizer" as one of the cartidges.
What is this and where would I put it n the ink trays? Worth it?

Only certain Epson printers can use Gloss Optimizer. You don't say which one you have! The ones that use it have 8 ink tanks I think. One of these is for the Gloss Optimizer cartridge. You use it with the Photo Chrome ink sets. It contains a kind of shiny coating stuff for photo prints. Think of gloss optimizer like the clear overcoat that protects a fine lacquer paint job. It fills in the void areas between colours and gives the surface of the paper a nice, uniform glossy finish. Gloss optimizer is automatically turned off when the selected media is a matte type.
There it is on the right in the R1800

Check in your printer's manual. Have a look in your printer and see if it looks like that in there.

I buy the generic ink for my Epson, and it works great. A LOT cheaper too! Sometimes I buy it from supermediastore.com

all the pkg deals seem to offer this Gloss cartidge which I do not need.
For those that have the R200 or R300....what do you folks do/buy?

I'll second the Epson Compatible Ink from Rima.com...I've used three sets from there. 3 X $15 = $45 vs 3 X $65 = $195...huge savings and the quality difference is negligable.

I used to sell ink over the internet and as far as I know a set for the Epson R200 and R300 should only have 5 cartridges which do not include a gloss optimizer Only the R800 series printer should have 8 cartridges to include a gloss optimizer. You may want to check your cartridge numbers again The numbers for a R200 and R300 are as follows
T0481 BK
T0482 Mag
T0483 Cyan
T0484 Lgt Mag
T0484 lgt Cyan

I know what you mean.....
Only reason I look forward to mine anymore, is because it's the first day of spring, and I know that cold weather is almost gone!

You can ask, but I can't promise anything.
If I can't help, personally, I can put you on a site where someone probably can help.
I'll be glad to help if I can.......... :o)
