need help with my analog stick.

hi guys!
ever since i've bought my psp half a year ago i had troubles with it's analog stick. the stick is VERY hard to move and when it does move the movement is very choppy(like a coke or something was spiled there and now it blocks the movement). it's so hard to use that i am forced to skip most games that involve the a-stick.so finnaly i've decided to do something about it. my question is:
is this a common problem? and is there ANYTHING i can do to fix it?

i dont know for certain but try buying a new analoge stick...

they are readily available at most game stores in things like psp starter packs where you get stuff like the screen sticker things and game cases...
