ULE LAUNCHER V3.78 PROBLEM

I tryied to use a jped as background pic through ULE LAUNCHER v3.78 and when I rebooted playstation 2 using mod enabled I get a black and whte screen that flips up and down. I can not see to fix problem. I tried to reflash mod with toxic v.41 but get same screen when using modchip. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks!
