Yes you can download the 3.40 oe and put it in the game folder but for the update you need to download 1.5 update and 3.40 update
then put in this directory

ms0:\PSP\GAME\Updatemaker\340.pbp
\150.php

then run the update maker then it will generate a PXAR File
not put that pxar file and put it in the update folder and you running

If you get stuck all the oe firmwares are bundled with readme's describing the whole process.

http://www.psp-hacks.com/downloads/340oeEasy.exe use this winstaller it copies files 2 psp then all u av 2 do is run the update

i main upgrading from 1.5 to 3.40 .... i read a lot of post after bricking my psp and find so much... try it... and it have about 80% of possibility to brick up your psp... i think the main point of it is understanding of the proceedure and also the model of the psp.. because someone posting the proceedure but they dnt post the model of the psp...
