Ok. I just got my used PS2 in the mail along with Swap Magic 3.6. I have a question regarding why my PS2 is reading CDs and not DVDs of any kind (mainly to see if my mess-up would cause that sort of thing or not). ok:

I put in swap magic at the very beginning (took off door peice) and closed it regularly. It wouldn't load the SMD program so I used the slide card to make sure it was locked and accidentally opened it as it was still spinning. At first I thought the lines on the bottom of the disc were giant scrath marks, but then i noticed that the CD one has those too. but anyways, some of the top the disc was scrathed (right around the hole) but nothing that would seem to do any damage. The disc is not even recognized in the Browser.

I opened it (I got it used, so no real worry about the warranty) and the white part that goes above the place where it holds the disc was scratched a bit, but when i put a disc in there i saw nothing remotely similar to damage to the disc.

Then i tried my original copy of MGS3 and it would say "PS2 disc" and when i selected it in the browser it would just go back to the browser.

CDs work just fine, in fact SMD 3.6 CD works fine.

I wanted to see what you guys had to say before i contacted the seller.
