dv (mini DV ) to photoshop format ? How do I do that ???

I hope I have put this in the correct forum and if I have not please feel free to direct me.

I have taken some stills with my I have a "3CCD digital Video Canon XM1 camcorder".

Does anybody know how I would go about converting the stills which are in DV format into Photoshop format ??

Is there a special application out there ? I tried exporting from IMovie which is the host video editing software based in my Mac but ito nly gave me small jpgs. Does anyone know of anything which would give me an uncompressed conversion from one format to the other ??

any help would be greatly appreciated.
