I have always thought that modding an xbox is a dangereous process because of the following reasons:

- i could get banned from xbox live
- the xbox looks like a VERY sensitive machine.
- other reasons, like hardmodding is dangereous, and it's very hard to find DVD DLs
Also, i could get sued! (i have the new phillips drive)

So, is modding my xbox a dangereous process? should i mod it? any issues or something? thanks.

you wont get banned because of stealth patching.
the 360 is not that sensitive.
dl dvds are very easy to find. go on ebay for cheap discs.
how would you get sued? they cant sue you for changing firmware

Your 360 is not moddable right now. There is no firmware released for your dvd drive. So don't worry for now.

But yes, you could get banned from Live by MS when they decide they have had enough of modded 360 running around cutting on their profit (unless of course MS is clueless on how to get down to business, which is very unlikely).

You could also brick your console (break it) if you don't do the modding properly. Oh and modchips are not recommend. I haven't heard great things about them.

Sued, are you kidding me.We should sue M-soft for all the defective consoles we've received, some people are on there third or fourth console, the numbers maybe even higher who knows !! Maybe banned from Xbox live but that's a risk you'd have to take, personally i keep my modded box offline and my elite is the one i use on xbox live. Don't let any of that discourage you from modding your box, which currently you can't do because there is no firmare out for yours yet, the reward is greater then the risk..
