When I run avi files in any media player other than divx player the audio is fine but the video is way too fast. I have the latest ffdshow codec and the latest divx codec from divx.com

Which players have you tried?

Does this happen to all your avis?

It happens to all the avis I don't make on my machine. It happens on all my media players except classic windows media player version 6 and divx player. I have the ati file player and
WMP 9 for win xp pro and realone player.

Wow...Have you tried re-installing these playeres you have?

Maybe the problem youre experiencing is caused by one of the settings in your media players.

Do these problems occur regardless of what you use to decode your movies?

Ok, have you tried disabling divx playback with FFDShow?

Here's how to do it if you don't know:

Get into your start menu and all programs and find the FFDShow configuration. Look for the option that says codecs and you will see the list of codecs FFDShow supports. One of them is divx5. Highlight that option and select disable. Now when you watch the divx movie, the divx codec will be decoding it and not FFDShow.

Did you disable divx5 in the FFDShow configuration or did you uninstall the divx 5.1 codec?

If you did uninstall the divx 5.1 codec then reinstall it, and disable divx5 in the FFDShow configuration.

When did these problems begin?
Did you install anything before this problem happened to your movies?

I made sure 5.1 was installed and then disabled divx5 still having problems Not sure when it started I have put up with it for a while now seems like it started after an upgrade of somkind. Can MMX Cause these Kind of problems?
Seems like a while back on one of my Puters I have had several I had an mmx conflict. I may be just swinging in the dark on the mmx thing but if it is Possible how do I Disable MMX?
