So recently I got myself a 2g memory stick for 30$
Which compared to how much it used to be, is a very good deal.

So I just skimmed through Froogle and noticed that they finally started to make the 8g memory stick and its roughly 150-200$

Too rich for my blood but I recall something with the firmware which is where my question comes in.

I still have a PSP version 1.5 (non custom OS) I was wondering since the PSP only recognizes 4g and < that, would i have to upgrade my PSP in order to use the 8gig memory stick? Or would a custom firmware fix this problem?

I appreciate any input, just curious so i can prepare when I decide to lay down some cash. Thanks

This would be my name but its 10 letters long and AD only allows 9 :P

8 gig duo works on 3.40oe, and so is 4 gig. People are having problem because they are buying fake ones from ebay. Some of thoese faulty memory sticks won't work on ANYTHING.

wasn't there something that you had to buy a mod chip to use over 4gb ms or something b/c of the psp's bios, thats what i heard. so 8gb will work with what modded fw?

actually after officail firmware 2.8 or something, 8 gig memory stick is already supported. I'm not sure which firmware exactly, but 3.40 and 3.40oe definitely supports 8 gig ms

Mine doesn't work.. I have a 8GB and a PSP 3.40 OE-A. I got it from E-bay, but the descriptions said that it was good for the PSP. Is my memory stick fake? :S

It also says: Brand New 8GB High Quality OEM Memory Stick (MS)

Oh.. So lucky I am.. Then I have to send it back to get back my moneys.. Aah, and I waited so long for the memory stick..

I read the sellers feedback, and it was another one who purchased the stick.. He said that it worked perfectly..
