hi...been using winavi to convert AVI to VOB then using tmpg to do the rest...problem is i have some files on my cpu that are a series...unfortunately some were recorded in dolby 4 channel and some were recorded in dolby 3 channel...of course they're not compatible, so i can't put them all on the same dvd...is there some way around this, next to buying a new dvd player that plays AVI as well...maybe a streaming conversion program...i like tmpg....and since i am new to this authoring hobby, i'd like to stick to this program...any help would be appreciated....thanks

One way, the AVI file could be opened in VirtualDub.
Set the 'Video' to 'Direct Stream Copy' and change 'Audio' to 'Full Processing Mode' then set 'Compression' to MPEG Layer-3' and resave.
Repeat for next AVI.
