Swap Magic 2.0+ Swap Magic 3.6 + GoW2 dvd5 Help!

I decided to dust off my ps2 and play God of War 2 but realized I have swap magic 2.0, which doesn't work with GoW 2 (DVD5 burn). I was reading around and from my understanding I thought it would be possible for me to burn swap magic 3.6, and load it using swap magic 2.0(which is the original pressed copy). But I can't get it to work, when i try to load 3.6 with normal and special boot, it just keeps spinning, the screen freezes with the pink in the background, and it never loads. There is nothing wrong with the media as I have used it before many times, and my ps2 is version 4 if that matters. Help me out here.

load this from the cd version (if that doesnt work try dvd) and then put god of war in
