DVD Movie and Chapter Selection Menu

First off, let me apologize if this question has already been answered, but I didn't see it in the guides section or when I did a search through the current postings.

I am brand new to dvd burning, but have extensive computer knowledge and I'm hoping to quickly find a solution to a problem I just ran into after backing up my first dvd.

I would like to be able to backup a movie, along with the chapter selection menu to a single dvd. I'm open to suggestions of which programs I should use and so on, but here's what I'm currently doing.

I'm using DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta 5 to copy the movie to my hard drive, and then using Nero 6 and a Lite-On 4x DVD+R burner to burn it to a Memorex 4x DVD+R disc. The dvd I'm trying to backup is "24" Season 2, Disc 5.

The movie copied perfectly and I'm extremely happy with the quality. The problem is with the chapter selection menu not working properly. It begins to play the menu music and video and then just stops. Then I can just hit the play button on the dvd player again and it will continue past that point and begin playing the movie.

For me, it's very important to have the chapter selection menu, along with the movie, and have it fit on a single dvd. I will be testing backing up another dvd later tonight to see if I have the same problem with the menu or not. If I have the same problem, I will assume it's something in my process, not the "24" disc itself.

Please let me know if any of you have had this problem before, and if you have any solutions.

If the DVD is a DVD 5 use DVD Decrypter to make an image file of the disc and burn that. The image file will be a 1 to 1 copy and will include the menu.

it could be a compatibility with the dvd+r and your standalone. I use shrink and dvd-r and have not had any problems with the menus sticking.
Burning at a slower speed might make a difference but I'm not sure.
