Xbox360 DVD-ROM Driver Problems

Ok I had recently bought an Xbox 360 system (used) and it worked fine, but the DVD-ROM driver made some weird sounds and i had owned a broken Xbox 360 system so i took the weird sounding DVD-ROM driver out and placed the other one in the other drive is a Toshiba Samsung DVD-ROM DRIVE MODEL TS-H943 and when i put this driver in everything seemed fine but it only plays DVDs and will not play 360 video games. And i would put the other driver back it in put that one now doesnt work so yeah im kinda stuck.
If anyone knows what to do please help me i would greatly appreciate it.Thank You
