I have been using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter for over a year. This last week I started getting a burn error and so I tried Ripit4me. Same thing happened with a different title. I have tried six different titles now. I do get the encoded file just fine, but when I go to rip it, I see the following log.

Yes I have defraged the drive, updated the firmware and reinstalled DVD Shrink. Nothing changed.

1st thing edit out the serial # in the post - at the top and begins w/ 1A. Don't need someone else using it.

The firmware on the drive can still use an update - the latest is 1.0B
Illegal disc errors can be caused by the media not being supported by the firmware.
The ones your are using are made by CMC - not the best. Better would be Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

Nero can use an update to - update to 6.6.0.18.
Package 1
Package 2 (recode & vision)

File 'Drivers\InCDfs.SYS'
Nero's InCd is known to cause conflicts at times. So if you're not using it uninstall it and run the clean tool.

Give that a go & let us know.

edit to add:
Forgot this - DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 6Y080P0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: Off
Looks like the hard drive is in PIO mode - here's a guide to turn it back on - link

Dear Binkie7,

I would like to thank you for your help. After I reinstaled the firmware update everything seems to be working again. Funny that that the other update worked for over a month and than just stopped one day.

I also looked at my DMA settings for my hard drive in device manager and the primary is showing Ultra DMA 2 for Device 1 and PIO mode for Device 0. I than looked at the Secondary and it said Ultra DMA 2 for Device 0 and Not Applicable for Device 1. Is this correct or do I still need to delete the drive and restart?

Thanks again for the support,

Gregor!

Yep you should delete and reboot to let windows do it's thing and reinstall. The hard drive is in the slow PIO mode.

You're welcome - Glad to hear the firmware did the trick!
