I have last year's model of this, the F40 version. As a piece of hardware it's quite attractive, and gives the impression of being well built and solid. But I can't stand the firmware, which encrypts all files into their patent .SAT format. It means that simply adding a single file becomes a major undertaking taking upwards of an hour, and of course, I can't copy any files off to other people.

Does anyone know of different firmware that retains files in the Windows format (mp3, wma, etc) and plays them in that/those format(s)? Alternatively, can anyone suggest a portable player that DOES keep files in this format? I believe the Creatives do, but I'm not sure and I don't know of any others.
