I have 4.2 should I upgrade to 5.3? and why? thank You in advance.

you should always upgrade the firmware, just to be safe and up to date i guess, you n ever know what MS could do.

It is highly suggested by the creator of the Xtreme firmware (C4E) that you should update to 5.3.

He is claiming that he received inside info that MS can detect backups being played and steps may be taken to make the backups unreadable when the new spring update is released (any day now). The new firmware has added code to prevent (hopefully) this from happening.

Now, even if you don't use Live, a future game which makes you update before it can be played may include this detection.

So, you option is to update your firmware to keep using your backups or just use your originals.
