This worked for me, dont know if it would work for you.
I had a semi-brick and i got it restored and i had 3.02 after that.
So u can skip that part of the semi-brick cause u dont want a brick :P.
1: Download psp brick fixer(google it)
2: Connect usb to ur pc
3: Run brick fixer. example: ur psp drive letter is G, then write G: at the text box.
4: Turn off your psp if u didnt(hold power trigger for 6 sec up.)
5: turn it on and hold R till a blue menu pops up.
6: Choose the 3rd option.
7: this will install 3.02 OE-A

NOTE: this worked for me when i had a brick, but i guess it will work without.

If you can get to recovery menu, just go to flash0, and copy over you back up flash0. or run recovery eboot, if you wish to be back to 1.5. what's this unbricker? sounds fishy to me.

Psp brick fixer makes the .dxed or sth file and eboot.pbp so u just have to choose launch program
