DVD + R /DVD - R

When I bought my writer I got a 10pk of DVD + R Media. My writer NEC 1300a is compatable with both - and + Media.

I have Noticed that the DVD-R Media is slightly cheaper than the +R Stuff.

With the Bulkpaq DVD+R I have had 100% sucess rate for making DVD Film Backups.

What is the diference between +R and -R.

Will I start making Coasters with -R. or are they just as good for video or better????

Usually -R will be slightly more compatible than +R in standalone dvd players. But most recents dvd players will play fine both of them. I made like 300 movies backup with pretty cheap -R(DVDpro 0.85$ each) witn no coasters. But I don't have the same burner so I don't know how your burner will handle cheap -R media.
I'm using the Pioneer 105.

Hi there, i have the NEC1300a and i have used cheap -r and +r media and more expensive stuff also, I am on the 1.6 firmware i believe and to date i havent made 1 coaster woohoo and my dvds play fine in any player i have tried so far.
