is DVD Decrypter a free software? if so where can i go to get it.

Thanks, atar for the quick response.
I normally get movies which already been decrypted from my buddy. all i need to do is copy them with roxio creator so i can get myself a copy.

I don't want to ask my buddy for his movies any longer and want to start ripping my own, is there a format to follow?

I already have downloaded

DVD Decrypter (thanks to you)
DVD shrink

am I missing anything else.

Use DVDFabDecrypter to rip instead of DVD Decrypter.
Insert disk, run program, select 'Main Movie'
http://209.172.35.173/download/DVDFabHDDecrypter3108.exe

Load into Shrink;
Burn with DVD Shrink+DVD Decrypter

If you haven't already, set DVD Decrypter to burn at 4x.

so is there a difference between using DVD Decrypter and dvdfabdecrypter?

I used DVD Decrypter to rip a movie a few minutes ago. so, how can i burn it into a dvd?

DVD Decrypter hasn't been updated for years, so it will choke on newer releases, but it has an excellent burning engine, so keep it.
Open the ripped movie folder into DVD Shrink and click 'Backup'.
It will offer a menu, a selection of which is to burn with DVD Decrypter
After it has shrunk 8GB down to 4.3 GB it will burn your disk.
