I've had plenty of success using AnyDVD and DVDshrink but when I put The Benchwarmers into my drive(Lite-On LH-20A1P with latest firmware installed ) the drive starts and stops then shuts off and AnyDVD says the drive is empty. I used it several times after that movie with on problems. ????

Might just be the disc itself. Could be a bad press.
Have another drive you can try it in?

You can also try DVDFab HD Decrypter.
Rip to your hard drive then open those files in Shrink.

I got a second copy of the movie and the same thing, drive starts up then stops. The drive works fine on other movies I've tried tonight.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled AnyDVD? If AnyDVD isn't seeing your drive you may need to reinstall and reboot the PC to reset the program in order to pick up your hardware. Some newer version aren't working with DVD Shrink either...you might want to try it with Recode or give DVDFAb HD Decrypter a shot as suggested by Binkie.

I used AnyDVD with no problems on several other discs after trying it on Benchwarmers . I downloaded DVDFAB and had no luck with it either .

No other drive you can use to rip?

Try this run AnyDVD in the background and rip the disc w/ IsoBuster

If isobuster can't see the disc and files on it - then it's something about this disc(s) that's amiss. Nothing special on it that I remember.

I agree with Binkie...I don't remember anything special encryption wise on Benchwarmers, and if there was it has surely been addressed through updates by now anyway.

Just trying somthing different I left the disc in the drive and shut down the computer then fired it back up. AnyDVD picked up the disc in the drive and I was able to back it up and copy it on CloneDVD.
