I recently backed up a game and put it in my 360. It says "Please insert disc into an XBOX 360 Console to play" or something along those lines.

Is this because I haven't flashed my firmware yet? Or is it that I burned it wrong?

well did u flash it only u know mate
otherwise u might that screen when u try to use iso buster or any other programme to burn games like star trek well it did for me just use xbox back up creator 2.4 or 2.5 for newer games with ur sammy flashed with kreon and this will work for ya
