What's your problem bigdunc. If you can't help then just shut up. He's just asked a simple question. If you don't know the answer, then I don't think he's interested in your crap. This forum is about helping and not denouncing people who ask for help.

To the guy who asked the question, Virgin's security is not as good as sky's. Sky apparently invests a lot of money in their security, hence it's so hard to defeat. For the moment atleast, it doesn't look like cable is going to change their encryption, so the boxes should work for some time. Atleast enough to get your money's worth. :)

Steady on there!!. Bigdunc has a valid point. If markuk71 is selling Dbox2's for £120 & doesn't know diddly squat about them then he shouldn't be selling them or coming on here to ask questions that are easily answered by searching the forums. I have been looking at a lot of bigdunc's posts and he has gone out of his way to help people, so maybe you should get off his back.

What i was trying to say in the beginning is does anyone thing virgin have the technology to completely block the dbox, while keeping all the other genuine cable boxes working. And the only reason i asked this is i wouldn't like to think if i sold 5 or 10 dboxes to my mate they would all come asking me for their money back if virgin does this soon.
I wouldn't have asked if i knew it would cause so much confusion. :)

I'm not trying to get on anyone's back. Got better things to do. I was just saying that flaming someone for one's own lack of knowledge of the situation is not the best way to go no matter how many posts you have posted. I'm sure the people who he helped are grateful...but that wasn't my point. This is a great forum and I've learned a lot about dboxes here. But firing someone from the begining of the post, without knowing the whole truth (or even trying to know) is one way of giving new people a false impression of this wonderful forum.
