Hi,
I am brand new at this digital video and DVd burning stuff so please bear with me.
We purchased a new Sony digital camera a couple of weeks ago and I later bought a new Sony DVD burner for the computer to go with it. For my first time use, I bought some Memorex DVD-R disks.
Using MF2, I uploaded about 8 minutes of footage. I think the program imports it in the DV format. The MF2 was set to "capture" and then burn it to disk.
The footage was captured and then burned according to plan. I played the disk on my stand alone DVD player and it worked fine although the resolution could have been better. It looked like an old analog VHS video.
Anyway, I captured some additional footage from a different tape to add to the disk since what was already burned is less than 1G in size. When attempting to burn the additional material, I am getting a "disk full" type error message. If the discoloration on the disk is an indication of how much material is on it, then there is very little on this one. What did I do wrong?
Secondly, how can I increase the resolution to match the quality seen on the cameras LCD?

Thanks,
Steve

i don't think you can add to the dvd once you burn to it. I think it "finalized" the dvd so that it would play on a standalone. It sounds as if the program worked like it should.

If you could continue to add then the standalone would not understand the menu structure that you made-- if you made 2 menus, then which menu should it look at when you put the disk in. To maximize the dvd, you need to have everything you want to burn ready.

The discoloration is what you used. ( I test short films by burning to cd's as they are cheaper)

You can get better support in afterdawn in the digital camcorder forum as they have more experience than I do.
