OK..You really do not have to convert them to DVD Format as most players will let you Play SVCD"s on DVD...I had over 500SVCD Disks that I made over the Years and I finally got a DVD Burner a couple of Months ago and at first I tried Converting these Movies to DVD Resolution But it totally ruined the Quality of the Movies, so what I ended up doing is Useing a DVD authoring Program called "DVD-Lab" and it will Burn your SVCD"s to DVD-R for you without Re-encodeing the Video and there for you do not loose any Quality, it also does Menu"s and Chapters and all the Other stuff DVD authoring Programs do, Plus doing it this way you can Put up to 3 Full Movies on to a DVD-R..Trust me if you can get away with Not re-encodeing the Video you will be Much better off...You can download a Fully Working 30 day Trial version of DVD Lab at h**p://w*w.mediachance.com/dvdlab/"....Cheers

You do not have to change the resolution of SVCD video files when converting them to DVD format, as DVD specifications allow for this frame size.
The things that you have to change are: 1) extract the MPEG2 files from the DAT files in the SVCD; 2) convert the sampling frequency of the audio (TMPGEnc DVD Author will do this automatically for you); and 3) author and burn.
As for the first process, head over to www.DVDRhelp.com and check out their guiodes section. Under the conversion section of the "search guides" page SVCD to DVD is listed. (I would give you a direct link, but that site is currently down for a few hours due to server
problems).
