i have a p4 1.7 ghz pc with 256 mb of ram and 64 mb radeon graphics card with win xp sp1 installed!! i usually encode dvd's to divx with dr. divx and get good quality results!! but, nowadays there are some dvd's which when i open in windvd or powerdvd run fine, but when i open them in zoom player or open and select properly all the vob's in dr. divx 1.0.3 they only detect a small portion of audio and video!! also audio/video of these ripped dvd's skip in zoom too!! so, i tried my hands on gordianknot to encode them in divx!!but, when it started encoding, virtualdubmod status window showed 49 hrs. remaining (spider-man movie dvd ripped to hdd via dvddecrypter)!! so, pls can anyone help me in choosing a fast encoder!!

I use gordian Knot pretty much...well exclusively because it is easy. I have a P4 2.0, 512, 64Meg Nvidia. I rip with DVDDecrypter, must be in IFO mode I believe, and my encoding only takes 2-4 hours..don't know exactly as I'm always asleep. The newest GKnot is really cool, but takes the same amount of time. Whan you may see is that semi-brief time when GKnot sometimes defaults to a "total time" of around 50 hours. Never have figured out why it does that, but I see it sometimes. If the prob continues, just give more details plz.
