Xbox360 still has Redlight of Death Problem?

Hello

I bought an Xbox 360 last week (with a special Xbox 360 cooler). I don't have any problems with the device, but available games in stored in Israel. So I asked the store to replace it with PS3, they agreed.

I began researching the net for PS3 & Xbox360... just to make sure I'm doing the right decision - Haven't replaced the xbox yet.

I found out about that PS3 is expensive & hard to program for, therefore, don't expect as many games as Xbox. Then I found out what stunned me, Redlight of Death for Xbox. Does Xbox still have this problem? the date on the back of the xbox shows: 2006-12-05.

I didn't encounter the problem, but don't want to simply wait for it.

PS. The Xbox I bought can read backup DVD, I understood that this will cancel Microsoft's Warranty - that is what leads me to decide to replace it with PS3.

any dvd player will play burned dvd's, there not the same as games, try and play a backup game on there, trust me it won't work, your fine. go with your first instinct, stick with the box.

You might want to toss the cooler cuz it will fry ur 360....

The cooler is Xbox special kit, it is connected to the back without outer power supply, here it is:

The cooler is known to brick 360's by shorting out and frying the Motherboard. Dont do it
