3.10OE-A cant access recovery mode

I currently had a 2.60 which I upgraded to a 2.71. And downgraded to 1.5 without any problems. I went ahead to install 3.10OE-A but now when I turn it on nothing happens and it automatically turns off after 10secs. I followed the instructions correctly when making the dxar file and the install. Everything seemed to have went well until I was instructed to manually restart. I didn't turn it off or anything during install. What might have gone wrong. I tried to access recovery mode using R but I guess the install was faulty. Looks like I screwed up the psp. Any suggestions out there would help to fix this.
