upgrading to 3.30 oe or 3.40 oe

I've been using a 3.30 oe-c psp for a while but a few isos i've been using haven't run. All in get is a black screen and then my psp restarts. Should i upgrade to 3.30 oe or 3.40 oe does it help at all or should i just stay with 3.03. I've been seeing mixed comments about it so i'm just wondering. Also i was wondering if i do upgrade do i have to go from 3.03oe-c to 3.10 oe to 3.30 oe to 3.40 oe or will the wininstaller do it directly?
