Codebreaker + Swap Magic

How do you get codes to work with Codebreaker? I have retail version 8.1(I think). I've tried booting CB first and then using Swap Magic but to no avail. Then I read somewhere to try the Special Boot option but that doesn't work for me either. Should I boot Swap Magic first then CB, then SM again? Also, I've got the cracked 9.2 elf but it won't boot when I launch it. I've got a v14-15 PS2. Any compatibility issues with that?

if its like action replay then you need to swap the disks with 1 switch open

Yeah, I've tried that. It won't load the SM disc unless it thinks the cover is open. I took out "tool a" and loaded SM, then loaded my backup. Tried regular and special boot but the codes never work.
