ive had this idea in my head for a while and ive been looking around to see if its possible, but i cant find anything. so does anyone know if its possible to softmod a fat ps2 and somehow connect it to your computer (maybe usb?) and use your computer as an hdd to load your iso's off of?

You can mean using your computer's HDD to install games on it and then launching them using HDLoader? umm... not that i know. If you have a HDD in your computer that can work with the PS2 then you can install HDD games on your computer then connect the HDD to the PS2 and launch the game.

But, you can always use the Memory Card Exploit. It's free...

Unlike XBOX, I don't think you can FTP games to your PS2, or use it as a hard drive to play them off. You can use the memory card exploit for PS2 and a usb hd though =\.

Yes you can use FTP to transfer the games to the PS2. Its stable but slow. I think you can find the guide at http://www.exploitstation.com/index.php?page=articles but I'm not sure. I think there is also a guide here on the afterdawn forums.
