Private torrents site. Free but you'll need to get an invite or catch them when they have open sign up.
Newsgroups. Generally you have to pay for these, but you get what you pay for. With a good news server your only limitations are you internet connection. If you don't know what newsgroups are read all this.

Newsgroups aren't sites first of all. They pre-date the world wide web and websites. Second you aren't going to find a free one that offers binaries downloads and especially not Xbox 360 games. Your best bet for free is to find of if your ISP offers newsgroup access. Most ISP don't offer good newsgroup access, but a few do.

In the UK as a lot of ISP's (bastards) no have downloaded limits, i.e. a lot are capped at 40gb, would downloading from newsgroups eat up some of this download limit?

But for a 360 this is not going to help you much because unless you have a perfect ping rate with the person you want to play with it will not work. It has been a huge problem for the free system link clients like the above XBconnect and Leaf Networks.
It will work fine for a regular Xbox though.

The quickest way I know how to get games fast,is get in your car or mommy and daddy's car go to a game store. They will say "How can I help you" and then you say (pay attention because it goes real quick) "Can I get...."
Bam you can't get no quicker than this.

ignore this idiot. yes that is a fairly quick way but come on man. obviously he doesnt want to um...spend THAT much money to get the games. but anyway. as already stated, newsgroups would probably be your best bet. the one i use is newsdemon.com (since they accept payment through paypal) and i dont really have any complaints. i was using newshosting.com and they were good as well. they have all different levels of access. from just a few gigs a month all the way up to unlimited (<--best choice!) i have an unlimited account and get steady speeds of over 775 KB/s and burst speeds up to 1.6 MB/s :) i COULD download a full 360 game in about an hour and a half! not bad for $21 a month ;)

first of all, how do you know he doesnt own the game? not everyone has the capability to hook their 360 up to their computer and make a copy of the game. secondly, this could all just be hypothetical talk. he asked a question and i gave an answer. i didnt suggest anything illegal. just that you COULD use newsgroups for what he is asking ;)

thank you very much, you beat me to the punch lol. im going to talk to an admin about this and i have said it before but its getting out of hand about these people that come here and dont listen to the rules. we need a small test to prove that they read the rules before they can register.

Look guys, no need to start up a flame war in this thread. People ask questions like this all the time. It is not like anyone is linking him to where he can find and download games. Plus we all break the rules some times. In fact senior members, including myself, break this one all the time.

How do you guys think backups were made prior to the shd162c w/kreon?
With any regular pc dvd drive and/or the 360 drive to get the security info.
So no, you don't need one specific drive with specific firmware. If you've got a modded 360, you've got the basic tools to create your own backups. And this info is available in many tutorials and on many sites.
Backing up your original is still the quickest way.
