i just got a new ps2 slim model scph 77001 cb i tryed to run swap magic 3.8 coder and it wont read it. what can i use on my system

Do you have magic keys installed? You need to have this installed so the PS2 believes there is an actual PS2 disk.

Or you could use straw method, tape and tissue method as described below.

Or if you do have the Magic keys installed or some other method, then perhaps there is something wrong with the Swap Magic Disk.
Have you tried both the CD and DVD of SM 3.8

i haven't installed anything yet but i tryed swap magic 3.0 cd disk and booted but not 3.8 which magic key should i install is it difficult to install what part should i use

Ok well I thought it was 3.8 cause you said that in your post.
Anyway you will need Magic Keys or try one of the methods I posted the links above.
You also need the original retail versions of Swap Magic 3.8 coder or Swap Magic 3.6, backups do not work.

As you will see the Tool 3 or Tool C as sometimes called is the trickiest part to install, that is why a lot of people just use the straw method.

I did it with no problems on my V14 but it does require patience.
