If anyone is interested in trying to use their own 64mb flash usb drive to manually copy the files, i have posted the image of the ULTRAMEM CD and the contents of the ULTRAMEM USB Stick here
http://www.mydatabus.com/public/skullsandbolts/ULTRAMEM.zip
maybe it is possible to duplicate the ULTRAMEM with third party USB Sticks and a CDR? to create your very own Action Replay or Codebreaker! The ULTRAMEM can also Hex Edit, Save Patch, Play MP3s, View JPEGs and Launch ELF Files.
remember... the CD still boots as a playstation disc, think it uses crazy taxi?

basically,
the cd image is of the ultramem cd which is a bootable ps2 disc! i'm not sure if it is possible to duplicate this or not...
the usb folder contains the files that come on the 64mb usb flash drive that comes in the ultramem pack!
**the bootable cd looks for the files on the flash drive and loads up the ultramem interface, allowing you to transfer files via usb flash stick to and from your pc and ps2 memory card.

Hi drewbang or others,
I have formatted my ULTRAMEM USB drive by accident :( with the USBADVANCE format drive option.
I have restored the files to the USB drive but when booting ULTRAMEM CD looks for updates but loads what seems to be the original version.
When I want to copy from the drive the software doesn't recognise the USB drive...
*) Is there something I am missing here?
*) What format / file system type is used
Thanks for your help
Rene

FIXED:
USB Drive must be formatted with FAT not FAT32
otherwise ULTRAMEM doesn't recognise it.

Make shure you can boot from a burned CD / DVD, default PS2 is not able to, otherwise buy a original ULTRAMEM CD / USB drive from ebay...
'Playstation 2 64MB Drive USB Flash Memory Card PS2 NEW'
1) burn a CD from the image file (CRAZY_TAXI.cdr) in the zip file
2) put files on the USB drive as stated in README in
ULTRAMEM DIRECOTRY (note USB DRIVE must be FAT formatted)
Put USB drive in PS2, Boot the burned CDR, wait and see
Make shure that no other hardware is turned on in the other usb port.
Good luck

If default ps2 can't launch it, then can it be launched through cheat disks, such as gameshark? Does it require the independence exploit already installed? Also, what burning software should be used? I've been attempting this with imgburn and it says it is an invalid or unsupported file format. Am I just doing this wrong?

hi guys haven't been on here for a while, sorry!
***mydatabus account has been deleted apparently.. they cancelled all free accounts!!!! I'll try to upload files to a new site soon and post a new link...***
Also i guess it's fair to say that you pretty much need to have the exploit already working to use this... obviously a PS2 will NOT boot from a copied disc, so you'll have to use cogswap or whatever!
What it DOES do is give you a nice amount of usb storage for your ps2 gamesaves etc etc...
the CD boots into the ultramem program, and then uses the USB as a storage device.. also it will read from the usb any ultramem application updates... off the top of my head it's called ULTRAMEM.UPG or something like that! (on the usb stick)

HOW DO YOU BURN A CDR? YES I MEANT ALL CAPS. Thanks for the files, but pain in the ass for everyone who tried to burn it geez.
PS2 v5 SCPH 30001-R NTSC
Magic 3 Mod Chip
For USB Advance/eXtreme I used a WD400 in a USB2 enclosure. I installed games with the official Windows interface and used USB eXtreme Free Edition to boot them.
For HDLoader I am using WinHIIP to install games onto the WD400 in the USB enclosure. Then I transfer them to a Maxtor 120 DIAMONDMAX PLUS 9 6Y120L0. I boot with Fully Patched HDLoader.
If you have questions, go to http://list.ps2hd.com/ to see what games work, and for easy exploits and flash video tutorials check http://www.ps2hd.com/

do you have to put the files in a folder on the disc, or can you just copy the files on to the disc?
