do they randomly generate numbers, or do they take the time to, actually write each and every code down

for example: heres one of my old gold cards

GD34R-FKXGY-KFG2J-PTFX6-B2766

is that like an algorithim or somethin or can the code be cracked

they are random. but only activated when purchased. you could take the time to try and make tons of codes up and see if they work, but i know it will take too much time and you probably wont ever get one that works.

so is there like a way to determine the sequences of code

if u did, and someone purchased the card w/ that code, and called M$ to complain etc. etc., ur console id would be banned. so why bother? i'm sure they have some sort of random algorithm in place.
