SD card is always locked..

ok well one day my mom was using my camera and it takes sd cards and she wanted to put her card in for her trip to vegas and then she took my card out ..oh wait
ok so a little info piece here i upgraded my card from a 256mb to a 1gb by changing the flash memory chip inside it, so this memory card was already opened and i put that locking piece of plastic back in and everything worked fine but when my mom took the card out she didnt know the car comes apart so when she took it out it came apart and she lost that plastic thing and now my card always says its lock, iv tryed different things to replace it like other pieces of plastic, toothpick pieces, little pieces of tinfoil, etc.
any help on what i can use to fix this problem?!
or anything else i havent tryed that might help
OR some way to remove the lock on it completely
