Hi people
The joystick on my psp functions when i turn it left and right but the up direction is stuck even though its not pointing up e.g. when i play medal of honour the character just keeps moving forward regardless of what i do to the joystick
What do i do to fix this? Can it be fixed?

the analog?
have you taken the faceplate off at all? or added any wires inside?

yeah some guy on ebay unbricked my psp so he opened it up, dont think he added any wires though

try takin the faceplate off n lookin where the analog stick would sit in the psp. make sure there is a lil rubber piece in a lil slot next to it.

yeah i just opened it up, and there is the little rubber thing it is attached and i take it off to reposition it but its still not working properly, does anyone know what i should do know?

ok wen you took the faceplate off, take the rubber thing out and look where it was. see if the wire or black tap from the speaker is visable. or anyting for that matter. the rubber thing wants to be sitting flat on the board under it.
otherwise, i say new analog stick.

man i get this problem 4 out of 10 psp's their can be many reasons for this my advice is take a q tip or any damp cloth and wipe the rubber pice and under the stick always works for me and i have had about 50 psp's so far :)

Strangely, I'm having the same problem for a different reason...I think...the little rubber gasket with the metal "threads" is missing a chunk off of it (don't ask...it's a long story) and ever since, the joystick doesn't track right. Anyone know where I can buy a new one? I've checked Ebay but to no avail.

mate that aint a different reason, i have that too, a little bit is missing from the top.
But i thought that would'nt matter as its not missing from the brown inside connector things, am i wrong or do i need a new one?
