Why does so many people argue about which system is better? It really does not matter. Each system has their own capabilities. They both are great systems. You really cannot see it unless you have both of them. I have them both and I must say, I like them both. When it comes to power, they both are powerful consoles. Yes the 360 came out earlier, but it is just as powerful as the PS3 as a whole. As far as online capabilities, of course the 360 is going to be better because what people always fail to mention is that the 360 is made by Microsoft. Isn't that the same company that runs Windows! All Xbox Live is Windows Media Center basically. That's why the 360 can do things like stream files from a PC. How can Sony compete with that? What they did was very smart. Instead of worrying about online functions, they improved their console in other departments instead (like audio for example.) Don't forget. One thing many people do not know about Sony is they are the makers of Dolby Digital. Everbody know that when it comes to surround sound, Sony dominates in that department. You notice not one Xbox game has better sound than the PS3. If you are a hardcore gamer, you know that the sound is a huge factor when it comes to good games. Tell me who doesn't like to hear great sound effects when they are playing fighting games or first person shooters for example. With the 360 unless you have a high definition television you cannot even use the Digital Optical connection on your 360. Everyone is talking about exclusive titles. Yeah Xbox has Halo 3. How long has the 360 been out now? To my knowledge it's been over a year and this so called exclusive hasn't hit the shelves yet? What the hell are they waiting on! The PS3 has exclusives that are hitting shelves around the same amount of time. The only difference is the PS3 has a lot more than the 360 (Final Fantasy, Ratchtet and Clank, and Tekken 6 to name a few.) Everyone says that the PS3 doesn't have any good games. Where are all the hardcore Tekken players? PS3 has Tekken Dark Resurrection. Their are people still playing that game in arcades let alone on PS3.
Like I said before, you cannot sit and criticize each system unless you have both of them and I know a lot of you only have one or the other. If you are worried about how much money you spend, when you break it down, they are almost about the same amount. Once you buy the 360, another controller, a game, Xbox Live, and a service plan you will spend about $500. If you want the HD DVD player, that's another $200. So where is the price cut at with the 360!
I think this topic could be discussed civily and intelligently, if we would try to control our fanboy emotions. I myself have neither system, due to financial strains, but am in the market for one. Now I, and most likely many other people alongside me, can only afford one or the other. It would be a tremendous resource if we could make a thread discussing (not fighting about) the advantages and dissadvantes of each, so people could make an educated decision.
That will be very difficult to do because there are so many sterotypes about which console is better. So many people are going by what they hear and not actually trying it for themselves.

I know people just think the one they own is better, without looking at the facts.
Better isnt a fact.. better is an opinion.. We can sit here all day and night and say this is better and that is better. Most of the time we say something is better or not simply because we had a bad or good experience. The best thing that can be done to avoid any arguements is to make a thread with the specs and facts from both consoles, then Lock the Thread....... That way you can compare the "facts" and not hear some other peoples opinion.. Honestly if you dont have either console and you are planning on buying one of them, would you want some other persons opinion to effect your own judgement, then get your PS3 or Xbox and hate it... Thats too much money to just throw around.. Personally I like Sony. I feel they really put alot of hard work into the PS3.. I dont own an Xbox, but have played it and didnt care for it...I have several boys of mine come over a then change from owning an Xbox to owning a ps2 or PS3 and giving or saling their Xbox...I install Networking, Video,Data and theater systems and out of every gamer from noob to advanced, about 1 out 4 are xbox, the rest...PS2 or PS3.......hmmmm that says something... Personally I would rather have a product that has its makers take pride in their work, then a product that is thrown out to the public just to compete against "everyone else"... lol, When Xbox 360 came out, I seen a sign at games stores along with other stores that was recalling the system.. hmmmm I have never seen that happen to PS3.. I wonder why..... In my opinion Microsoft should stick with the PC.... if that....If you are going to compare a console, compare Ps3 and Wii....lol
it all comes down to what you like.if you are a fan of online gameplay than the 360 is for you.and if you like blueray than the ps3 is for you.either way you cant go wrong its like this both are very good in their own way i prefer the 360 for NOW only because of the game selection and xboxlive.but as the ps3 evolves i will grab one.i agree the ps3 is built better than the 360
