Converting a Laptop Screen to stand alone monitor

I have an old laptop with a 15" LCD Screen. It is connected to a small card that is then connected to the motherboard. The laptop has bit the dust but the screen is still good. Surely there is someway to convert this screen over to a stand alone monitor. If anyone knows anything about even where to start please let me know.

Sure you can... except you need a video-in capability for your laptop and video out for whatever computer you wanna hook it up to. Which may prove to be more of a hassle than it is worth.

the main board and processor of the laptop are fried it wont even turn on. I guess what i'm wondering is is there is a way to find which pins on the card the monitor is connected to are the VDD supply without messing up the card. I also need to find out which pins to hook into a vga adapter if possible.

The laptop screen relies on input from the video card; which on a laptop is usually integrated into the motherboard. I know our different Dell laptops here at work ar not interchangable.

I would be suprised to see if it could be done.
