Samsung SH-S182D DVD writer? Will it burn 360 games?

Right now i use my bros Sony 810A DVD writer which works flawlessly with CloneCD 5.2.9.1. I just put in the disc, select the 360 game image and it burns. No Coaster ever.

Now i want to get a dvd writer for myself as my bro annoys me whenever i want to burn a disc. So i searched around and found this samsung drive which looks good:

Will this be able to burn 360 games properly? I want the convenience of the Sony DVD writer my bro has: just put in the disc and burn. So...will this Samsung drive work as well?

yeah it will work, and it can burn dual layers at up to 8X too.

My eldest bro has a different Sony dvd writer model and his writer cant make 360 games at all. Had 3 Coaster with it. I used the same the CloneCD version and stuff.

it will burn the games, just something was different. his drive may not burn to the dual layer media you are trying to burn to. my drive wont burn to some cheap medias and until i had the newest firmware my drive wouldnt burn to verbatim discs either.

Hmm, could be and thats what i am worried about with this Samsung drive. I tried searching google but came up with nothing on it.

Anyway...which drive you got?

what ever dual layer dvd burner u get firstly make sure u can booktype unless u by pioneer which does this for u automatically
secondly make sure ur firmware for ur dvd dual lyer burner is the latest thats all #

why not just by a pioneer it will defo work as long as its a dual layer burner on any media

sometimes the dual layer dvd u r burning on can be the problem with certain burns on certain speeds
thats all u need to know but the one uve chosen just find out bout bitsetting or booktyping same thing and thats it

Hmm, yes book type and stuff. How do i find about it? Any places to look? Is the information available on the box?

I would buy a Pinoeer but that darn thing aint available here.

I found this review of the Samsung drive and under Positive comments it says that it auto sets the book type to DVD-ROM:
