I'm sure this might be posted already but could someone point me to the right tutorial? I read the post that you could play ps2 backups on a slimline ps2 with Action Replay Max. I couldn't get it at walmart so I bought the Gameshark2. So can I play backups with just it, or can I use it to install CDLOADER.ELF instead of AR Max? I would really appreciate any help you have, thanks.

I am pretty sure that using the cheat discs to load back ups was only for CD based PS2 games, and not the DVD based. And it was also most likely on the older fat model PS2. The ELF files (memory card exploits) are also only for the older fat models.

You need a set of magic keys II and Swap Magic discs. OR a good mod chip installed which would be my choice. It is more expensive for sure, but an all around better method for playing back ups.
