I need help booting my HD ADVANCE

i'm using swap magic 2 to boot up my hd advance and it load but my hard drive isn't working ....but when i use swap magic ..and put in dvd loader ...and then my backup of hd advance 2 ...the hard drive is working ....is there a way to load faster than the way i'm doing now?? and how come i have to use dvdloader inorder to make hd advance to work??? and i just want to know how to load my hd advance faster without so many swaps... thanks
